SONET & ATM Applications

Low-cost transceiver simplifies SONET/ SDH and ATM designs.

Manufacturers of SONET/SDH and ATM switches, routers and cross-connects for both public and private networks now have a simpler fiber transceiver option. HP’s new CDX2622 is the first transceiver module to offer clock-and-data recovery (CDR) in the industry-standard 2x9 footprint. The CDX2622 is designed for SONET OC-12/STM4 (622 Mbps, 15 km) single-mode fiber systems and is Bellcore GR-253-CORE and Bellcore TA-NWT-000983 compliant.

The CDX2622 brings several new advantages:

  • ° You can replace separate transmitter and receiver modules with a single transceiver module, saving money and board space.
  • ° It requires no fiber management.
  • ° The module is compatible with wave solder and aqueous wash process, simplifying your manufacturing process.
  • ° Plus, the CDX2622 is pin-out compatible with the multimode HFBR-5207 module, so you can use a single board layout for both multimode and single-mode systems.
