Fiber optic transceivers.
HP offers the industry’s most complete range of optical modules to reach across the room, across the building or across campus. Our drop-in optical transceivers offer total flexibility in link length, fiber type (MMF and SMF) and cost. These 1.0+ Gb/s transceiver modules are also the best price/performance products available. All of HP’s Gb/s optical transceivers are Class 1 eye-safe.

FPO Vertical cavity surface emitting lasers for multimode fiber.
HP was the first to provide you with the new short wavelength, vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSEL). This technology delivers 1.0+ Gb/s data rates over multimode fiber. Compared to CD lasers, 85 nm VCSELs are less expensive and more reliable, plus they enable longer links.

Multipurpose long wavelength transceiver.
Another first is our new 1300 nm FP laser transceiver for gigabit Ethernet (1.25 GBd) applications. This device enhances the link length on multimode fiber, while still providing long reach support over single mode.

A variety of 1.0+ GBd ICs.
We can also support you with a wide range of high-speed ICs in both industry-standard and proprietary applications. Using our proven 25 GHz bipolar process, these ICs provide top performance in sensitive, high-speed I/O applications.

Serialize/deserialize ICs.
HP is the only supplier now offering both a transceiver IC and a fiber optic transceiver for the gigabit market. Designed to industry collaborated profiles, our serdes ICs support both gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel applications. Available in 5 V and 3.3 V versions and two package styles, HP has a serdes IC that fits your design. And, these low-power, low-cost solutions are available in production volumes today, leading you to stable gigabit designs quickly.

Transparent ribbon cable with HP’s GLink chipset.
If you need to serialize a backplane or cluster systems, look to HP’s GLink chipset. With built-in encoding and frame synchronization, the GLink chipset is an easy-to-use interconnect that allows high-speed parallel data to be transferred transparently over a serial link. The chipset is capable of driving tens of meters over wire or kilometers over fiber optic cable at serial rates up to 1.5 GBd.
