Get a head start on adding IR data transfer to your products.

Infrared links are a hot item in a wide variety of products, so hot that you don't have any time to spare when it comes to adding IR to your products. Now new design kits from HP make it easier than ever.

Get up to speed quickly.

The HSDL-8000 IrDA 1.0 evaluation kit includes everything you need to get started. You can establish a test IR link, experiment with angles and distance between the transceivers and evaluate EMI effects. The kit contains the IrDA Data Link Design Guide, two evaluation boards and two HSDL-4220 and HSDL-4230 IR LEDs.

Get those new designs on the market.

The HSDL-8001 IrDA 1.0 developer's kit includes everything in the evaluation kit and takes you even further. A demonstration application helps you understand how IrDA links are established and maintained. Software programming libraries help you create a basic (non-IrDA) IR link between a PC and your device. To simplify setting up an IR link between two PCs or between a PC and your device, the developer's kit includes adapters that connect directly to a standard RS-232 serial port on an IBM-compatible PC. You can create an infrared link, perform tests and even do simple debugging of your IrDA implementation.
